Saudi Arabia to issue tourist visas
Saudi Arabia has announced it will issue a tourist visa as it prepares to become a holiday destination.
Who can apply?
Until now, visas have only been approved for expatriates, business trips, pilgrimages or family visits, but with the new immigration scheme, citizens of 49 countries may apply for a Saudi Arabian visa. These include Schengen area countries, the United States, China, South Korea, Australia, Malaysia, Japan and South Africa.
Tourists from countries without visa exemption may apply electronically, or at the nearest embassy or consulate, and attach it to the required documentation.
