EU reaches an agreement on visa exemption with Columbia and Peru
The European Commission has reached an agreement that will allow Columbian and Peruvian citizens to enter EU countries without requiring a visa. This measure, which is valid for stays of up to 90 days over a period of 180 days, not including UK and Ireland, as they are not part of the Schengen area.
The signing, which took place in Brussels with the top 61 EU countries, was completed after verifying that both Columbia and Peru met the security and illegal immigration requirements and the respect for human rights. These are all minimum requirements for access to the Schengen space without a visa.
