Schengen visa no longer required for Peruvian citizens
Peru nationals will be able to enter the 26 countries of the Schengen area from march 15. The agreement was announced last Thursday by the country’s president Ollanta Humala.
This new deal allows Peruvian citizens to travel to Europe as tourists, visit family members living in any of the european countries, study short-term programs, attend cultural shows, festivals or
business events without the need to apply for a visa.
Small and medium enterprise managers would previously not consider an European business expansion plan. The high cost of exploring new possibilities and executing the plan would often be an effective deterrent to any company considering opening new business in Europe. The visa- free regime opens the door to new business opportunities to Peruvian companies.
It is another good news in terms of migration for Peru which will also begin to issue new passports with biometric capabilities for its citizens.
