Israel will become the third country to achieve this agreement with China along with the United States and Canada. This will allow Israeli citizens with business, tourism or family purposes to make multiple entrances to China within a 10 year period. The bilateral arrangement will provide Chinese citizens with the same opportunities to enter Israel.

Hagai Shagrir, director of the East Asia department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that this deal is a great achievement for Israeli diplomacy since Israelis will get the same type of permit as Americans citizens do.

The number of Chinese visitors in Israel is expected to triple within the next three years. It will rise from 30,000 to 100,000.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “China is the largest trading partner of Israel in Asia and will quickly become the largest trading partner of Israel as we move forward.”
