The Federal Migration Service of Russia (FMS) announced today that the applications needed to process work visas and Russian business visas are now carried out electronically. This change in the system will reduce processing time, as the FMS will directly send the invitation letters to the consulate concerned.

It is expected that throughout July, once active, the new operating system will allow applicants to receive invitation letters the same day that they were issued.
