Germany

• You can enter and leave Germany for sightseeing if you are traveling from an EU country, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland or Liechtenstein. Since June 15, 2020 travel restrictions for 31 European countries, including the Member States of the European Union, have been replaced by individual travel recommendations.
• Travel within Germany is also allowed. However, when entering Germany from high-risk areas, a two-week quarantine is mandatory. Furthermore, there is an obligation to inform the health authority. This measure can only be waived if the recent ITP test has been negative; Proof of this must be provided upon entering Germany.
• If you travel by plane, please note that international airlines to the Federal Republic of Germany must store passenger data after arrival in the country for up to 30 days.
• If you are traveling by train, find out in advance about the expected occupancy rate of the trains and, if possible, even the distribution of passengers on the train.
• Remember that currently all travelers arriving in Germany from third countries are subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine.
• People traveling from EU countries and from Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom are not subject to this requirement.
• In Germany, hotels and restaurants, as well as non-essential shops, other than supermarkets and pharmacies, are open and must comply with hygiene standards. A maximum number of people is allowed in stores, in relation to the size of the premises.
• At the moment the bars can only open in some federal states.
• Museums and places of worship are open. However, the beaches and some tourist places are open, but with restrictions for travelers who are not going to spend the night there.
• Currently there are no risk areas under confinement in Germany.

Austria

• You can enter and leave Austria for tourism if you travel from an EU country, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland or Liechtenstein, with the exception of Sweden, the United Kingdom, Spain and Portugal. This is applicable if you arrive by car or train.
• If you are traveling by plane to Austria, you should find out about entry and movement restrictions on the IATA website.
• Starting June 16, anyone traveling to Austria from any EU country except the UK, Sweden, Spain and Portugal will be able to do so without a medical certificate and quarantine.
• Non-essential stores, different from supermarkets and pharmacies, are open, but the use of face masks is mandatory and a safety distance of one meter must be maintained. The protection and distancing standard is also applicable in tourist places and museums.
• The hotels are open, although you must have a previous reservation. Guests must wear a mask at the entrance and in the reception area.
• In cafes, bars and restaurants, a minimum distance of 1 meter must be kept between tables. Customers must be seated and must reserve their table in advance. The closing time is at 01:00 for everyone.
