St. Petersburg launches electronic visa
The Government of the Russian Federation has announced that citizens of more than 50 countries, including Spain, may visit Leningrad an St. Petersburg with a visa.
As of October 1, the city opens its doors to more visitors, through a free visa. The visa must be applied for no later than four days before the scheduled travel date.
As reported on the St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee website, the visa is valid for 30 days. Although the allowed stay cannot be more than eight days.
The new immigration measure was announced during the “Welcome to Saint Petersburg” Road Show. The show runs through cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia and Lisbon in October to promote the tourist potential of the city.
