Increase in amount required to obtain EB-5 visa for the United States
The investment required for shareholders applying for the EB-5 visa, or investor visa, in the United States, increased from $ 500,000 to $ 900,000.
The immigrant investor visa can be applied for by foreign citizens who demonstrate the required transactions in a commercial company in the United States. Or companies that create a minimum of ten full-time jobs for US workers or permanent residents.
Known as the “golden visa”, the EB-5 visa grants the following benefits:
- permanent residence
- access to the US education system
- work permit
- pension
Those who obtain the EB-5 visa also obtain many benefits from the initial investment. This includes relocation to the United States with their family, and each person receives a Green Card.
Since the administration of former President Barack Obama, permission has been granted on an investment of $ 500,000. However, the current administration wants to strengthen foreign direct investment and is taking steps to address the global slowdown.
