From April 2019, if you are applying for a visa to travel to China, you will have to complete the online form. And, you must request an appointment on the website of the Chinese Visa Application Centre in Madrid. 

Gather the necessary documentation depending on the type of visa you are applying for. For the China online visa, complete the form with your personal information and print it. And then, sign it and present it with the required documentation on the day of the appointment. 

Remember that, as of April, forms completed by hand will no longer be accepted. And you will not be able to go to the visa centre without an appointment.
