The United States has changed the requirements for visa photos
Are you planning a trip to the US? Remember that some visa requirements may vary depending on where you’re coming from and the type of trip you’re planning.
A few months ago, the United States Embassy announced a few changes to the requirements for visa application photos:
- The photo must be recent (no more than 6 months old)
- White background
- Facing forward
- 5×5 cm
- No glasses or other accessories that cover the ears
- Only high-quality, high-resolution photos will be accepted. Photos must have minimal shadows and avoid colors that reduce visual contrast.
- Photos should be uploaded along with the DS-160 visa application form. You should also take your photo with you on the day of your interview in case it needs to be resubmitted or for other unforeseen reasons, as per the request of the US Embassy.
Finally, we remind you that it is advisable to consult with the US Embassy regarding your type of application before initiating visa procedures. You must start the procedure a minimum of three weeks before the scheduled date of the trip. We advise you not to make a non-refundable ticket purchase without first being issued a VISA.
