Czech Immigration Law includes new residence permit
The legislative amendment amending the Czech immigration law 326/1999 comes into force on August 15. The amendment includes changes to the rules on employee cards, residence permits and long-term visas. Within these categories, the most significant change is related to the authorization for intra-company transfer ICT-EU for managers, specialists and trainees, which transposes the directive of the European Union on intra-company transfer (ICT) (2014/66 / EU ).
This amendment to the Immigration Law modifies the conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals who are part of an intra-corporate ICT-EU transfer program; To this end, a new permit for intra-company ICT-EU transfer that combines work and residence is introduced. This permit, which until now had a validity of 2 years, will be valid for 3 years and the applicant must have at least 6 months as an employee of the shipping company, before assigning permission for intra-company transfer ICT-UE.
One of the advantages of the new provision is the mobility that is allowed to the holder within the European Union, that is, the holder of a permit for intra-corporate transfer. ICT-EU will be able to work in another EU Member State for a company of the same group, up to 90 days in a 180-day period. If the employee has a permit for intra-corporate ICT-EU transfer issued in another EU Member State, they can work in a company of the same group in the Czech Republic for up to 90 days based solely on a registration in the labor office.
