Indonesia has changed requirements for hiring foreign workers
The Indonesian Ministry of Labour has approved a new regulation that defines changes in recruitment policies of foreigners. From this July, companies must comply with the new requirements established which are longer and more expensive for processing a work visa and subsequent recruitment processes.
In addition, it is required that for every foreign employee the company should have at least 10 local employees. Expatriates should be covered by an insurance policy. Events such as meetings, audits or inspections, which could be done with a business visa, now need a work permit.
