Foreign engineers may not practice in Panama
On 7th May 2015 the National Migration Service confirmed that Panama is no longer accepting university degrees in engineering of any kind, as Panamanian citizens can only carry out these jobs. No foreign engineering graduates are entitled to permanent residence permits for foreign professionals, so they must apply for an alternative type of visa or residence permit.
Accounting, Architecture, Medicine, Law, Dentistry and Journalism, are also reserved only for Panamanian citizens.
