US opens borders to tourists
After 21 months of closure, the White House has announced that from 8 November it will reopen its land borders with Mexico and Canada for non-essential travel.
Foreign visitors crossing the border by land with a full vaccination certificate will not be required a negative PCR test or quarantine.
Unvaccinated travellers will still be prohibited from entering the United States from Canada or Mexico at land borders.
Vaccinated travellers from the 26 Schengen countries, as well as Great Britain, Ireland, China, India, South Africa, Iran and Brazil, will be able to enter without any restrictions.
With the opening of borders, tourism, trade and the reunion of many families who were most affected by the separation during the pandemic will be reactivated.
The measure will soon be extended to non-essential travel on international flights.
