
Restrictions in Chile and New Zealand by COVID-19
The movement of passengers in the world is limited due to the pandemic. This forces several countries to restrict the movement of millions of travelers. And to implement restrictions by COVID-19
The rapid expansion of the coronavirus also limits the performance of procedures related to visas, permits of different categories, and posting of workers.
However, governments take action and apply controlled exceptions. At Duguech & Dip we will inform about the different restrictions.
It is important to mention that any traveler who comes from areas affected by the COVID-19 outbreak may be exposed to additional health checks, medical check-ups, quarantine periods or entry bans. These immigration restrictions are the result of the rapid expansion of COVID-19. In fact, this informational alert can undergo changes and alterations that are unpredictable in a world health crisis scenario. The established restrictions can be tightened or relaxed at any time, considering that the situation is dynamic and constantly changing. That is why, given the need for displacement, we recommend confirmation of the measures in force before the official authorities of each country.
For example, these are the restrictions by COVID-19:
Chile:
- Border closure is established for incoming travelers. The measure takes effect on March 18 and will be in effect for 15 days.
- Travelers entering Chile and who have been in Spain and / or Italy in the last 30 days will be quarantined for 14 days. This measure will be applicable to Chilean citizens, residents and tourists.
- The immigration authorities closed their offices to the public. That work permits and residence permits will suffer delays in their management.
New Zealand:
- New Zealand citizens and residents who have entered the country since March 16 must undergo self-isolation for 14 days. The measure will be in force for at least 30 days.
- Foreign citizens who have transited through China or Iran in the past 14 days, will be prohibited from entering the country.
- Cruises are prohibited from entering New Zealand’s territorial waters, from March 16 to June 30.
